Claudia John - Trainer
Claudia John, The Academy of Riding's trainer, began riding at the age of twelve in her native country Germany, focusing primarily on Dressage. She moved to America at the age of 19 having obtained employment with a large Breeding and Dressage Farm in New England. From there, Claudia began working with International riders including Douglas Mankovich and the late Barbara Silverman.
Barbara Silverman was ‘The Chronicle’s Dressage Horseman of the Year – 1999’ and was long listed for the 2000 Olympics at the time of her death. For eleven years Claudia worked daily with Barbara as her “eyes on the ground”, helping Barbara to perfect her skills. At the same time Claudia was polishing her own skills. She showed through 4th Level Dressage, always placing in one of the top four positions. She has also trained through all Grand Prix Dressage movements.
“Claudia is a committed and dedicated rider and trainer with an exceptional feel for horses. She has spent many years honing her natural talents and has come to embody an unusual combination of skill, commitment and integrity that makes her an asset to the equine community.”
